A Royal Opening.
Nine years after Mildred A Hooke's appointment as Head Mistress of Bradford Girls' Grammar School, the day finally arrived for the official opening of the brand new building. On September 23rd 1936, along with Miss Margaret Law (the chairman of the governors), Mildred had the great honour of welcoming the Princess Royal to the school. The occasion was well covered in the press and so I reprint the pages as they are found in my grandmother's scrapbook. (Mildred is on the right in all photos)
