Jerusalem. A city on the edge of revolution — and a man caught between two worlds. Gaius Octavius Marcellinus is a Roman soldier with a divided soul. Born to a Roman senator and a Jewish mother, he has spent his life proving his loyalty to Rome. But after taking part in a brutal suppression of a Jewish uprising, shame begins to haunt him.
Then, on the Day of Pentecost, he witnesses something he cannot explain: a group of Galilean believers speaking with a power they call the Breath — the Spirit of the risen Yeshua. Though Marcellinus tries to dismiss it, the memory refuses to fade.
As the new faith spreads across Judea and beyond, his life becomes increasingly entangled with its followers. Forbidden love, betrayal, and devastating loss force him to confront the questions he has long resisted. While empires clash and Jerusalem moves steadily toward destruction, Marcellinus must decide where his true allegiance lies. In a world of violence, faith, and political turmoil, one mysterious force continues to pursue him.

Graham is a retired Pastor from Lancashire, England, happily married to Ruth with two wonderful daughters and four fine grandsons.
He trained as a teacher after doing relief work in war-torn Eritrea. As Deputy Headteacher, he made a significant career change in 1993, becoming a pastor in the church where he and his wife led the music ministry. Later, as Senior Pastor, he gained an MA in Missional Theology, serving the church until retiring in 2021.
Experiences in Eritrea sparked a deep overseas commitment leading to his church funding a children’s village in Uganda and supporting a home for abandoned children in India. Graham and Ruth have travelled widely, including China, Romania, Ukraine, Uganda, India and Israel.
